Hypnosis at Home

by Sara Mendez

A hypnotic state can be obtained by simply watching TV or driving. It can also be obtained other ways but they require practice, training and time. It is very difficult to produce this state without those things on command. However it is not impossible to achieve this once you learn how to properly do it. There are many products online which offer to teach you hypnosis, however you may find it best to try a few private sessions before committing to buy expensive online programs.

Learning about your body and reaction is critical to learning hypnosis. Each of us will react differently to the state and you should be prepared for what to expect. This is one reason why a private session is recommended first. Some people feel “tingly” or like they are floating while under hypnosis. The mind may feel numb or blank while you are under. Others might not feel these things what so ever. For first timers who have not been hypnotized, you might be unsure of what you are supposed to feel which can be intimidating.

Private sessions will help you understand how your mind works through personal issues. Sometimes while under you might uncover and issue you didn’t know you had. It might be happy or traumatic and you may not know how you will react to this. Not everyone reacts or has the same experiences. Some people may relive a tragic event in their past while having a one on one session. This can be unnerving if it happens at home and you are alone. If you have a one on one session, the hypnotist is able to help you work through the issue instead of dealing with it yourself.

Ultimately we all want the same thingprogress. A professional will provide a plan and a tracking method so you can see if the hypnosis is working or not working. The hypnotist can formulate a program and talk with you about your progress and if need be, change the plan. If you uncover something new you want to work on, your hypnotist can work that into your plan as well. Progressing in treatment is important, if you are not seeing progress, it becomes more difficult to stay with the program.

By using both online products and individual session you can increase your progress. The CD’s DVD’s can help you learn to put yourself in a hypnotic state quickly while you are at home. This will make it easier once you start your individual session. You will also understand how it feels to be hypnotized and how your mind reacts. Once you are at your one on one session you will not be nervous about being put under making the session more useful. For the time between sessions the CD’s help clients to continue practicing and help them to maintain their progress.

Some might feel the private sessions are a waste of time and money since there are products online. While it may be true, online products are cheaper, however private sessions are invaluable for advancement and achieving results quickly. Private sessions are tailor made for each your individual progress and personality.

The best thing to do is try it out! Visit with a hypnotist in your area and talk with them about the CD’s or DVD’s you found online. Try a private session and see how you feel afterwards. There are many different ways of being hypnotized and the best way all depends on you. So do your research but think about the importance of a personalized session before making the decision to not try it at all. The choice is yours, but don’t short yourself.

Prognosis For Metastatic Breast Cancer

by Roselyn Capen

Metastatic breast cancer is the most advanced stage of breast cancer. Even after treatment, some cancer cells may not die and continue multiplying. These cells may spread to other parts of the body through blood or lymphatic vessels and start the development of cancer in those areas. This stage of the cancer is called metastatic breast cancer.

Metastatic breast cancer can either recur, that is, the treatment for breast cancer may have completed, but the cancer cells that escaped from being killed make the cancer recur, or may happen during the course of treatment, when the cancer is so aggressive that it spreads out despite of the treatments, or, in some cases when diagnosis is very late, and the cancer has spread out, metastatic might be the very first diagnosis.

When breast cancer recurs, the breasts, bones, lungs, chest wall, liver and/or brain start developing it, and show changes. Breast cancer has the highest risk of spreading. If another kind of cancer develops after breast cancer has been treated, it is probably breast cancer recurring. This is good news, because breast cancer is more treatable than any other kind of cancer. Also, if the cancer comes back in the breast that was not diseased earlier, it is probably a new cancer, and not a recurrence.

It is very important to know about metastatic breast cancer because around 30% of women with breast cancer are later diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Metastatic breast cancer is best treatable when no organ, specifically the lungs and brain, develop cancer, or when the cancer cells show traces of estrogen or progesterone hormone receptors, or, when tumors still respond to therapies, or when there have not been many treatments the patient has already availed.

Metastatic breast cancer, owing to its nature, requires extensive treatment. Therapies like chemotherapy, hormonal treatment, immune therapy alone with regular mammograms, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, bone scans etc. are necessary. The treatments can be purpose-specific. For treating the whole body, systemic therapies have to be implemented; for treatment of specific organs, local treatments like mastectomy and lumpectomy are done, and for alleviating pain, therapies along with oral aspirin intake are adopted.

Because metastatic breast cancer means cancer spreading to various parts of the body, complete sure is very difficult. There will come a point when you will have to stop undergoing treatment, even when your cancer is not fully cured. You have the choice of being treated indefinitely, but you have to know, the more number of therapies you take, the more the side-effects are. Also know that many women have lived fruitful lives while taking the treatment for the metastatic disease. It is hard to take decisions when your life is at stake, but it is also necessary that you do it. There is research going on for prolonging lives of people who have this disease, and that research will surely help you.

How Painful Can Hair Loss Transplants Be?

by Hazel Hughes

There are many people who like to have hair loss transplants but have been turned off by the thought of the pain associated with it. Also many of them have scalps that are sensitive may be scared of having their scalps being cut. Of course, the degree of hair transplant pain is different for different people.

Some have described hair loss transplants as if you are visiting your dentist. It does not come along like an implication of something that is unpainful. Therefore you have to be ready that the experience will not be a relaxing one. A handful of them feel that hair transplant pain does exist.

The injections of the local anesthetic into the scalp prior to the operations are unquestionably painful to some degree. Anyone who has had a tooth pulled knows that, if the tooth is deadened properly, it is not the tooth-pulling that hurts. It is the needle going in with medication to numb the tooth that is the real agony.

With hair loss transplants, there will be hair transplant pain after the surgery too. Just like the the dental analogy, when the numbing subsequently wears off there is great deal of pain where the tooth was before. You may have to be away from work as the swelling is normal after hair loss transplants. Your skull could experience strange sensation for weeks.

Nevertheless, the pain of hair loss transplants cannot in reality be compared to a tooth extraction. The pain is definitely less sharp and some do not even feel it as pain at all. Many people merely find it as an uncomfortable feeling. If they do feel any pain, it is of a level that can be taken care of with a few doses of Tylenol.

However, there are people who have had hair transplant procedures done, oftentimes watch television or read magazines, being awake and alert the whole time. They say they do not feel that there is any pain involved at all. They brave the injections of the local anesthetic well. They are not daunted the least bit by the process.

Why hair transplants surgery in earlier times is more painful than it is now? This is because more cutting to take out the donor hair and more cutting to insert the donor hair into the recipient site especially when bigger parts of scalp were excised.

Hair transplants surgery used to be a very painful operation in the past. This is one ground why you had better ask many questions as you look for a hair loss transplant surgeon. Not few doctors today have eased up up on older methods.

At once, the surgery is minimally encroaching, so that the scalp is no more disturbed than is necessary. Newest know-hows for hair loss transplants use only the follicular unit and not a large measure of surrounding tissue for the presenter grafts and therefore the amount of pain experienced is cut down considerably.

Ultimately, an experienced and skilled surgeon is of important key in having a less painful surgery when having your hair loss transplants. The procedure will induce you to a lesser extent of pain and bring out a better result for you in the bargain if the doctor acknowledges the best way to perform the surgery.

Salon Hair Care Products vs. Cheap High Street Hair Products

by Jennifer Summers

Looking after your hair is a top priority if you pride yourself on having clean and healthy looking hair, and using quality hair care products (i.e. shampoo and conditioner) is a must. However, when it comes to getting the best value for money should you buy professional salon hair care products, or would cheap high street hair care products be just as good?

Comparing hair care products on cost alone, high street hair products may seem cheaper and a better buy, giving the impression of providing more value because of their low cost. Professional salon products on the other hand may seem expensive with a typical 300ml bottle priced around $20/?10, 5 times the price of the average high street hair products at an average cost of $4/?2.

On just this kind of price comparison alone, it appears that the cheap high street hair products are the winners as you are getting 5 times as much product for the same cost, or the same amount of product for 1/5 the price of the salon professional hair care products.

However… when you carry out a closer inspection of the differences between cheap hair products and professional salon hair products, does cheap hair care products really provide the better value for money, or is buying cheap hair products a false economy? Let’s take a closer look…

To discover which in the long term out of cheap hair care products from the high street and professional salon hair care products proved the best value for money, we decided to test the products to find out how the high street hair products compare with the salon professional hair products.

In our test we compared a 300ml bottle of an average high street shampoo, and an equivalent 300ml bottle of salon professional shampoo. The high street shampoo needed about 50ml per application to clean the hair to our required standard, whereas the salon shampoo needed only 10ml per application to clean the hair to the same required standard.

The high street hair shampoo, using a 50ml application, provides 6 applications per 300ml bottle (approximately). The professional shampoo, using a 10ml application, provides around 30 applications per 300ml. Hence the high street shampoo worked out at $0.64c/0.32p whilst the professional shampoo came in at $0.66c/0.33p.

Summary: at first glance, cheaper high street hair products appear to be a better buy and provide value for money, but on closer scrutiny there is but a hair’s breadth of difference in the price of salon hair products, and cheap hair products. When you add the better quality and effectiveness of salon products into the equation, the salon products turn out to be much better value for money. Q? Why would you use anything other than the highest quality hair care products on your hair?

Why do people do drugs?

by David B Smith

Why do persons opt to use chemical stimulants when they’re so bad for you? The causes of drug addiction are as varied as the number of drugs that are available for use. There is no one cause for drug addiction just like there is no consistent profile of a drug user.

People who have a record of drug use or misuse in their families are certainly at higher risk for drug addiction problems. It has been proven frequently that the children of alcoholics and drug-dependent persons are far more likely to exhibit addictive tendencies than kids of non-addicted parents. This is generally attributed mostly to environmental reasons and vicarious learning.

The offspring of those addicted to alcohol or drug abusers see their mothers and fathers escaping from problems abusing artificial stimulants. When they encounter problems themselves they are naturally more likely than their peers to reach for the same crutch.

This is not to say however that genetic factors are immaterial. Certainly babies of addicted mums can be born with a craving for alcohol or illicit drugs, and many believe that the ‘addictive personality’ is something that is engraved in the genes of the addict.

Sometimes however there is no sad background tale behind addiction. Often with an addiction to prescription drugs, the addicted person commenced taking the medically prescribed drugs because they were overcoming some type of legitimate disease. Over time however they began to feel that they couldn’t do without their dose, and that if they stopped taking their meds, the pain would reappear.

People who have low self-regard are certainly more susceptible to to drug addiction. Such persons may feel they have no control over their lives and will turn to drugs as a way to cope. They habitually feel they can’t please the people around them so they have to transform themselves in order to fit in. The change is made easier by using drugs because the drugs change them into someone and something that they are not. Stress is repeatedly listed as the number one reason of drug addiction.

Life is hectic for everyone. Some of us though are more able to cope with this than others. Some turn to drugs as an easy way to get passed their anxieties. Once a person starts using drugs to overcome anxiety it can be hard to halt the cycle because the worries are still there once the high is gone, so the user feels he or she requires more drugs to bring more support. That type of cycle can lead to long-term addiction.

Part of the reason for the popularity of drug addiction is simply because they are so easily accessible. Even for those who don’t have contact with their neighborhood dealers of illegal substances, alcohol and medically prescribed drugs are easy to acquire and can prove just as useful (and destructive).

So why do people use drugs? The simple answer is that persons use chemical stimulants in order to have control over their moods, but as to why some people need so desperately to control their moods while others manage to cope without artificial stimulants, there is no straightforward answer.

Symptoms of Drug Depenency and Abuse

by David B Smith

Drug abuse becomes a dependency when a person has a compulsive need to use drugs without care or regard for the consequences that might occur either bodily or emotionally.

Although the symptoms of drug dependence can be hidden by other problems in a user’s life, there are loads of signs and symptoms to look for to tell if you or someone you love has a drug addiction. The most recognizable sign certainly is your treasured-one’s inability to stop taking the drug. People who are dependant upon drugs feel they can’t go on in life without the help of their drug. They go to great lengths to obtain the drug and use it on a habitual basis.

Addicts also begin to lose all interest in activities that they used to like to do. Their whole life is dictated by when and where they can find their next fix. They put aside hobbies, relatives, even work and education. Nothing else is as significant as ingesting their drug of choice.

Drug addiction tends to show up in a user’s mood. Are they often either exceedingly up or overly down? Mood swings are common with drug addiction as are violent explosions and irrational behavior.

People with a drug addiction will find themselves behaving in ways they usually would not do without the drug. Physically, the aftereffects of drug dependence will unavoidably show in the body over time. They may suffer a sudden weight loss and appear emaciated or pale to others. They forget to look after themselves, such as not showering on a regular basis or taking the time to comb their hair. They may have physical sores on their body, and their eyes may seem dull and disinterested, with a glazed look most of the time.

By the time dependence has really taken hold of a user, the body has become used to having the drug in its system. It builds up a tolerance, and thus the user will need to take more of the drug in order to achieve the same outcome it had before.

The addicted user will predictably begin engaging in secretive or suspect behavior, such as withdrawing during gatherings or making many, pointless trips just to be by themselves. They can also become emotionally detached from those they were until that time close to. This estrangement makes it easier for them to use drugs without any influence from those around them.

Depression almost always accompanies drug addiction, so look for indicators of hopelessness, negative talk, and withdrawal from all activity. Sudden variations in work or education results can also be a sign of dependence. Addicted persons may feel perpetually exhausted too, and not want to get out bed - staying asleep for long periods of time. This can be a combination of both the effects of the drug and the accompanying sense of dejection.

Drug addiction is a very serious sickness, so if you see these symptoms in yourself or someone you love, seek help. The therapy has to begin somewhere, and when the symptoms appear, the time to get help is now!

How to make amazing diet shakes?

by Joel Riley

It seems that everybody these days is on a diet and you know as well as I do there are many different diets out there to help you achieve your goals. But with so many fast food joints that flaunt tempting goodies in front of you, it is difficult to stay on your weight loss plan. Dieting doesn’t always mean and shouldn’t mean that you have to resort to the old rule that says, “If it tastes bland or bad, that’s what you can eat”. The weight loss industry is big business and now they have come up with diet plans to suit just about everybody’s needs. The new plans help to keep you on track without taking away some of the pleasures of the things you like eating the most.

Diet shakes are excellent source of all essential nutrients and they lack calories. You can make your weight loss diet more interesting by adding chilled weight loss shakes that will satisfy your taste buds. You don’t have to spend more time for preparing the shakes. In just a few minutes, you will have delicious diet shakes in your hands. The important appliance you need for preparing shakes is a good blender.

You can easily prepare your own shake at home. Homemade diet shakes have several advantages in the sense that you can customize it to suit your taste. If you decide to add an additional ingredient, you can do so. Or if you decided to omit a particular ingredient, you can also do so. In short, it can be tailored made for your needs. Another benefit about making your own diet shakes is that, you will have a more hygienically prepared shakes while saving money at the same time.

Depending on your needs and tastes, you can either make diet shakes from vegetables or fruits. However it is better to switch between vegetable and fruits so that you can have varieties of shakes. For example, milk shakes can be tantalizing to the taste buds but it is slightly fatty as compared to soy milk shakes which are protein rich. To make up for the protein deficiency, some individuals take protein supplements in addition to their diet shake. At the end of the day, the ingredients used depend on objective of your diet plan, faster weight loss or gradual weight loss.

When you prepare diet shakes, don’t add sugar for getting extra taste. Sugar will add up more calories and certain vitamins and minerals will not be absorbed by the body along with the sugar. Some times, you can add other juices to add flavor to your shake but be careful about the sugar that is present in the juice.

Always wash your vegetables and fruits well before blending your diet shakes; there are many pesticides and chemicals you want to make sure you eliminate before using the vegetables or fruit. If you wish, you can add ice to give your shake more consistency and crunch. However you choose to make your diet shakes, always remember that no diet plan is effective without being consistent and having a daily exercise plan.

Understanding Addiction to Nicotine

by David B Smith

Unlike most drugs, the undesirable health effects of nicotine are only long-term. Even so, the complete cost of nicotine addiction to users and to the community is vast!

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate that tobacco use remains the most prominent preventable cause of premature death in the United States, resulting in approximately 440,000 premature fatalities each year and resulting in an annual cost of more than $75 billion in immediate medical costs as a result of smoking.

Over the past forty years, cigarette smoking has caused a projected 12 million deaths, including 4.1 million deaths from cancer, 5.5 million fatalities from cardiovascular disease, 2.1 million deaths from respiratory disease, and 94,000 infant deaths related to pregnant women smoking during pregnancy.

Second-hand smoke, also identified as environmental tobacco smoke, is a mixture of the smoke given off by the burning end of tobacco products (side stream smoke) and the ordinary smoke breathed out by smokers. It is a complex mixture which contains many chemicals (including formaldehyde, cyanide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, nicotine and other poisons), many of which are known to be carcinogenic.

Non-smokers surrounded by secondhand smoke at home or work increase their risk of developing cardio-vascular disease by 25 to 30 percent and lung cancer by 20 to 30 percent. Additionally, secondhand smoke causes lung difficulties in non smokers such as coughing, mucus, and reduced lung functionality.

Children exposed to secondhand smoke are at an increased risk for sudden infant death syndrome, serious respiratory infections, ear problems, and more serious asthma. Since 1964, 28 Surgeon General’s reports on smoking and health have resolved that tobacco use is the single most unnecessary cause of disease, disability, and death in the United States.

In 1988, the Surgeon General concluded that cigarettes and other types of tobacco, such as cigars, pipe tobacco, and chewing tobacco, are habit-forming and that nicotine is the drug in tobacco that causes addiction.

Nicotine provides an almost immediate “kick” because it causes a discharge of epinephrine from the adrenal cortex. This stimulates the central nervous system and endocrine glands, which causes a sudden discharge of blood sugar. Stimulation is then followed by depression and exhaustion, leading the user to seek more nicotine.

Nicotine is absorbed instantly from tobacco smoke in the lungs, and it does not matter whether the tobacco smoke is from cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. Nicotine also is absorbed easily when tobacco is chewed. With regular use of tobacco, levels of nicotine accumulate in the body during the day and persist overnight. Thus, daily smokers or chewers are exposed to the effects of nicotine for 24 hours each day.

Addiction to nicotine results in withdrawal problems when a person tries to stop smoking. For instance, a study found that when chronic smokers were dispossessed of cigarettes for 24 hours, they had increased resentment, hostility, and aggression, and loss of social cooperation. Persons suffering from withdrawal also take longer to recoup psychological stability following stress. During times of abstinence and/or cravings, smokers have shown problems across a wide array of psychomotor and intellectual functions, such as language comprehension.

Adult females who smoke generally have early menopause. Pregnant women who smoke cigarettes run an increased risk of giving birth to stillborn or premature babies or infants with low natal mass. Children of females who smoked while expecting have an increased risk for developing conduct disorders. National research of mothers and daughters have also found that maternal smoking during pregnancy increased the likelihood that feminine children would smoke and would persist in smoking.

In addition to nicotine, cigarette and cigar smoke is primarily composed of a dozen gases (mostly carbon monoxide) and tar. The tar in a cigarette, which varies from approximately 15 mg for a standard cigarette to 7 mg in a low-tar cigarette, exposes the user to an increased risk of lung cancer, emphysema, and bronchial problems. The carbon monoxide in tobacco smoke increases the chance of heart disease. The Environmental Protection Agency has concluded that secondhand smoke causes lung cancer in adults and seriously raises the risk of respiratory illness in children, along with sudden infant death.

Research has shown that nicotine, like cocaine, heroin, and marijuana, elevates the level of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which affects the cerebral pathways that regulate reward and gratification. Scientists have isolated a particular molecule - the beta 2 (b2) sub-unit of the nicotine cholinergic receptor - as a critical component in nicotine addiction. Mice that lack this subunit fail to self-administer nicotine, suggesting that without the b2 subunit, the mice do not undergo the positive reinforcing properties of nicotine. This finding identifies a likely site for targeting the growth of nicotine addiction medications.

Other research found that smokers have better resistance to nicotine addiction if they have a genetic irregularity that decreases the functionality of the enzyme CYP2A6. The decline in CYP2A6 slows the breakdown of nicotine and protects individuals against nicotine addiction. Understanding the role of this enzyme in nicotine addiction gives a new target for contracting more successful medications to help persons stop smoking. Medications may be developed that can inhibit the functionality of CYP2A6, thus providing a new approach to preventing and treating nicotine addiction. Another study found intense changes in the brain’s satisfaction circuits during withdrawal from chronic tobacco use. These changes are comparable in magnitude and duration to similar changes documented during withdrawal from other addictive drugs such as cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and liquor.

Scientists found major decreases in the responsiveness of the intelligence of laboratory rats to congenial stimulus after nicotine administration was abruptly stopped. These changes lasted several days and may relate to the anxiety and melancholy experienced by humans for several days after quitting smoking “cold turkey.”

The results of this research may help in the growth of better treatments for the withdrawal symptoms that may inhibit users’ attempts to quit.

Drug Rehab options

by David B Smith

Drug dependence rehabilitation basically means quitting drugs and learning how to live a drug-free life. However, this can be a very complex process.

Different drugs have different effects on the body and mind, and certain individuals are more prone to addiction to particular drugs than others. Likewise there is no one-size-fits-all drug rehabilitation treatment that fits everybody.

Drug rehabilitation can take the form of behavioral (or ‘cognitive’) therapy, medication, or a combination of both. A number of factors determine which therapy will work best.

Behavioral therapy gives drug users methods for dealing with their drug cravings. It teaches them ways to keep away from chemical stimulants and avert setback. This type of therapy also teaches addicts how to manage a relapse should it occur. When a human being’s drug-associated activities places him or her at increased risk for AIDS or alternative communicable diseases, behavioral therapies can help to reduce the risk of infection transmission. Case management and referral to other therapeutic, psychological, and social services are central components of treatment for many patients.

Treatment meds, such as methadone, LAAM, and naltrexone, are obtainable for individuals dependent upon specific chemical substances. Nicotine preparations (patches, gum, nasal spray) and bupropion are available for persons addicted to nicotine. Medications, such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, or neuroleptics, may be critical for treatment success when patients have co-occurring psychological disorders, such as depression, anxiety disorder, manic-depressive illness, or a psychotic mental illness.

The best programs generally deliver a combination of both therapy and medication, and are integrated with other community services that meet the requirements of the individual patient - a program that is shaped by such considerations as age, race, culture, sexual preference, sex, pregnancy, childhood history, housing, and employment status.

Drug addiction rehabilitation can occur in a variety of settings, in many different types, and for different lengths of time. Because addiction is typically a chronic syndrome characterised by occasional relapses, a short-term, one-time treatment is seldom sufficient.

For many, rehabilitation is a long-term process that involves multiple interventions and attempts at self control. A period of detoxification, followed by long-term rehab is normally the best course of action for anyone trying to beat a drug habit , and while it doesn’t have to occur at an in-patient clinic, these do tend to have the best success rates when it comes to truly defeating drug addiction and maintaining a drug-free life.

Sources Of Vitamin B1

by Alison Addy

This article discusses the importance of getting the required amount of Vitamin B1. It also talks about its role in promoting good mental health.

Vitamin B1 As A Treatment Drug

Vitamin B1, which is also called Thiamine, is a very important vitamin in our diet. More importantly, it’s a vital ingredient for us to stay healthy. Thiamine has long been very important in the medical health profession. It has been used as parts of treatment for patients suffering from the AIDS virus and HIV. It has also been used by many doctors to help improve brain functions and treat mental health problems.

Research has also shown that a daily diet of Vitamin B1 may be helpful in preventing or stalling the harmful effects from Alzheimer’s disease. The number of victims suffering from this degenerative disease is staggering, with more being added each year. The effects of the research being done on Vitamin B1 as a helpful drug for these patients are also phenomenal.

Vitamin B1 For A Healthy Heart

There are other important reasons to maintain an adequate level of Thiamine or Vitamin B1 in your daily diet. In addition to the many other benefits of Vitamin B1, new research has discovered that proper amounts of Thiamine may help to prevent cardiovascular and heart diseases. Many doctors and scientists believe it will help to reduce the heart-related complications with diabetic patients. They believe that increasing the diabetic patient’s dosage of Vitamin B1 will reduce the amount of bad cholesterol, which is what usually causes heart disease. Heart disease is a very serious condition. It is, in fact, the number one killer of women. For this reason alone, it’s important to check with your doctor to see if you are receiving and adequate level of vitamin B1 in your system.

Vitamin B1 And Our Mental Health

Yet another benefit of Vitamin B1 is the effect it has on our mental health. Taking Vitamin B1 on a regular basis appears to improve our cognitive functions. It has also been show to help a person concentrate better. Increasing the person’s ability to concentrate has a lot to do with how it helps ward off many of the symptoms in Alzheimer patients. There is still much research being done on the effects of Alzheimer symptoms. If it could be proven that Thiamine can stop the progression of Alzheimer’s, it would be a miracle. A recent study on the benefits of Vitamin B1 state that many psychologists are recommending the vitamin to help patients that have trouble focusing on “tasks at hand” or attention deficit patients.

Excellent food sources of Vitamin B1 are pork, milk, fruit and whole grain products. If your are using meat as your source, make sure it is not overcooked or you will be cooking the vitamins out of the food. If you are concerned about your levels of the vitamin, contact your doctor.
