Men and women have different calorie intake requirements. As an example, an average man requires 1,500 to 1,600 calories per day, while a woman just requires 1,200 to 1,300 calories. Aside from gender, other elements used to determine a person’s ideal calorie intake are body type, activity level, and their height. This is the reason why a person needs to see a doctor prior to beginning a low calorie diet.

You lose water weight either by dehydrating yourself (I don’t recommend that) or by doing the opposite… by drinking a lot of water. The reason why drinking a lot of water helps you to stop retaining water is because your body senses that there is enough water so there is no need to retain the extra water.

Arriving at an ideal weight for a child can be complicated sometimes. Adults use the Body Mass Index to measure their ideal weight. But for children, this is not the case. Their ideal weight are calculated on length for age and weight for age percentile charts.
Children falling into the 95th percentile range are considered overweight. For children whose weight are above the 85th percentile, the danger of being overweight exist for them.

One have to note that charts are for comparisons purposes only. Do not be engrossed as to whether Your child can fit into the right weight category. His or her health should be your primary concern instead.

Parents often become over duly concerned if their children do not fall within the ideal weight range. Thus they tend to get obsessed with constant weighing of their child. Such actions can be detrimental to a child health instead.
A little common sense can go a long way when deciding on matter regarding your child weight. Be a good role model and encourage your child to exercise regularly. Also provide him or her with a nutritious diet so that they can have a healthy lifestyle.

Are you sneezing again? Do you suffer from allergies and asthma? That irksome runny nose, watery eyes and scratch in your throat can get awfully redundant and tiresome. I used to have allergies as a child. Every time I would step into our barn to feed the chickens, sheep and goats, I’d start sneezing. This was horrible. My wife now has allergies that she just can’t shake. She walks around with Kleenex in hand in a drug induced daze. She just can’t seem to shake them. Lucky for her I found a cure.
I grew up in rural America on a farm. My allergies were horrible. They just seemed to diminish as I grew older. I was impressed that I did not have to deal with sneezing and coughing I couldn’t see straight. I felt as if I was free at last. My wife isn’t as fortunate as me.
What would you do to obtain a “cure”? What would you do to get rid of this constant seasonal irritant? My wife still has to medicate each new season with a plethora of over the counter drugs. 7. Sulfinpyrazone - This drug helps your body maintain healthy uric acid levels and prevents gouty arthritis. It is commonly known as Anturane.
8. Losartan - This is actually a hypertension medication, but it can also be used to help lower uric acid levels in the body. The most common names for it are Hyzzar and Cozzar.
9. Analgesics - These are pain and fever reducers and work well when your gout attacks leave you in a lot of pain.

There are many words that we hear on the tube today for acid reflux; heartburn, GERD. In any case they are all the same thing. Acid reflux can be debilitating. It is a disease that affects many Americans. I have acid reflux and have had since a teenager. Some doctors thought I had an ulcer or H-pylori but neither of these two common diagnoses were true in my case.
I am unusual in that I just feel constantly hungry if I do not treat my acid reflux daily. I know I am not hungry because I will have just had a meal. Thirty minutes can go by and I will feel famished. This just can’t be. Since we all look after our weight it is not so good for me that I should want to eat all the time. I take one little pill each morning for heartburn before I brush my teeth to prevent this unrequited hunger.
Acid reflux is more than just a nuisance. People who have untreated chronic indigestion or heartburn do not realize that the lining of their esophagus is at risk of being eaten away or worse getting cancer. In simple terms the esophagus is a tube that is approximately 9 inches long that connects your pharynx (throat) to your stomach. The reflux part of this disease is acid, bile, and pepsin that is up-chucked into your throat and burns away at the lining of your throat. My reflux just makes me feel very hungry even when I know I am not.
A quick visit to the corner druggist could be all you need to do to solve this persistent ailment. Speak to the druggist. Tell them of your symptoms and they will suggest the latest over the counter remedies. Zantac and Prilosec as well as others non prescription medications are available to treat GERD. The stores keep these expensive medications locked up and you will need a clerk to dispense them. These were once only prescribed medications. They are now available in 30-day supply packaged. The packages can cost more than thirty dollars at some drug stores but well worth the relief.
If this does not work after a few weeks then you should see a doctor. No way around it. An internist or a gastrologist, stomach doctor, is what you need to seek. Insurance plans can make suggestion of who is on your plan and in network. Word to the wise - make sure the doctor and the testing facility are both in network or you can get hosed. These tests involving stomach acids like a lower GI’s, CAT scans etc are expensive so make sure you protect yourself.
Relief could be as easy as taking a prescription pills each day and avoiding acid reflux foods. I take Prevacid, the over the counters do not work for me. Get help now!
Unless pregnant, once you begin experiencing acid reflux it is usually a lifelong ailment. I can attest to that fact since I have at it since I was 19 and am now over 50 years old. I M U S T take my medication everyday rain of shine or I will experience symptoms. It has never gotten any better.
After a meal is when most people experience most severe symptoms. That is when the gastric juices are at their most active. Pepsin is activated to begin the digestive process for food absorption into the system. Not eating late at night is helpful as well as not eating acid reflux foods. Some say it feels like a heart attached while others actually vomit into their throats. Mine, like I said, just makes me feel ravenous. I think I got off luckier than most. Either way ? get treated. Do something. It is not going away and it can only get worse.
I have a brother who consumed Tums at an alarming rate. He hadn’t noticed his habit until I asked him about it. He said he had heartburn constantly so I suggested Prilosec. He now takes this little pill each day and he feels much better. From time to time he says taking two in a day, like Thanksgiving does the trick. He is now symptom free.

Look, I know that you are smart. I know that you know that if you want to lose weight then you need to work on your diet and exercise routine. I’m not going to write an article explaining how to lose weight and end it so that the only thing that you have discovered is that you wasted your time to find out something that you already knew. Instead, I’m going to tell you how you can effectively lose weight through making efficient use of your time in the gym. Interested?
Perhaps one of the most important concepts to realize about losing fat is that your metabolism is a powerful tool. This determines how many calories that your body burns throughout the day without additional exercise. You can imagine how important that it is to know how to speed up your metabolism. This is what exercise does, but not all exercise speeds up the metabolism in the same way. Some, such as long, moderate jogging will speed it up during exercise. However, there are other ones that can only require 15 minutes to speed up your metabolism throughout the rest of the day.
So, what exactly do you need to do to have these results? It’s called High Intensity Interval Training. Basically what you will do is perform a physical activity, such as sprinting in this example, and do it at 90-95% of your max heart rate. Do this for about 15-20 seconds and then slow your pace for a minute. Then do it again. Do about 15 total short sprints, cool down, stretch and walk away you are done.

Instead, get your intestinal fortitude and take it to the gym to perform some HIIT. If you are taking prescription drugs or even OTC drugs such as: herbal supplements; medications for infections, immune system, heart failure, HIV or AIDS; birth control pills; Coumadin; or other cholesterol reducing drugs make sure to inform your doctor prior to using statins.
Side effects from statins are rare. If you experience muscle soreness, pain, weakness, vomiting, stomach pain, discolored urine, stop taking the medication and contact your doctor immediately.
